This is the first book in the Quincy and Rainie Series by Lisa Gardner. Jim Beckett was everything Tess dreamed off in a man and husband. He was charming and handsome and a decorated police officer. Two years into their marriage and one child later Jim changed. Tess ended up being the one to help put him in prison, he was arrested for the murder of ten women. He always swore he would be back for revenge. Now he has escaped prison and Tess worries he is determined to keep his promise. As Tess's life hangs in the balance she seeks help.
Having read one of the books in the middle of the series first I was intrigued to start from the beginning. I was a little thrown out as this is the first in the Quincy and Rainie series and Rainie isn't in it, only Quincy is.
However, I found it really interesting, I enjoyed the storyline and I found it easy to follow, really gripping and it kept me hooked and interested throughout. I liked the characters and the way they were written into the story. The writing style was really easy to follow and engaging.
The book had a steady pace that made the storyline flow really nicely and overall was a really good book.
