One day you're at home, its a normal day your cooking dinner waiting for your husband to come home excited to hear about his day. Then suddenly you wake up, you're in the hospital and have no memory of how you got there. The doctors tell you, you've been in a car accident. They say you lost control of your car but not only that, you were in a dangerous part of town. What happened? Why were you there?

I was particularly excited about this book because I read and loved Lapena's The Couple Next Door so I had high hopes for this book. I was not disappointed. The storyline was brilliant, fast-paced and gripping. The writing style was very similar to that of The Couple Next Door. Easy to read, great flow, extremely gripping, keeps your attention, making you want to keep turning the pages.

The plot kept you guessing, kept you hooked and never got boring. A really interesting and compelling plot with twists you didn't see coming. The characters are written really well, you like the ones you're meant to like and hate the onyou'reour meant to hate the 'bad guys' The story does its job in leading your emotions on a rollercoaster of a ride.

The characters are really realistic too, you can imagine them being real people on your street, makes you look out your window and think. I even found myself going "oh she's just like so and so"

So yet again another riveting and compelling book from Shari Lapena. I can't wait to read her next book, An Unwanted Guest.
