June 17th Library Book Haul

June 17th Library Book Haul

I've decided to do a library book haul post each month. As I am disabled I am very fortunate to have access to the mobile library. The library van pulls up right outside my house once a month.

I can take as many books out as I like (I have access to my wife's library card too he-he) The loan period from the mobile library is much longer than from the actual library, as they only come once a month. It is free to order books to be collected from the mobile library. This is a fantastic little service.

So, Anyway this month unfortunately the bus broke down the day before it was due to come to us. The lovely librarian rang my mobile to let me know he wouldn't be able to make it this month. He also told me he would hold on to all the books i'd ordered (All 20 of them) and he would also renew all the books I already had out so I didn't face any late charges. What a wonderful man.

Well me being me, couldn't wait till next month for more books. So I pestered and pestered my wife to take me to the library (this was on the Friday the 15th) she promised to take me on Saturday as she finished early and the library didn't shut till 4pm.

So time comes for my wife to finish work and time goes. An hour passes and I hear nothing from her. So being the annoying little nerd that I am, I'm on the phone to find out where she is. She tells me the sewer pipe at work has burst and she is up to her neck in well i'm sure you can imagine.

At this stage i'm in full panic mode, i'm thinking i'm never going to get to the library now. After speaking to my grandmother who informs me that Ollerton library is open till 5.30pm I head online to check this is correct and yep google agrees. So I change my plans and decide we shall go to Ollerton library instead. Finally my wife gets home and we set off.

We arrive at Ollerton library to find it SHUT! and it had been since 12.30pm. The sign outside the library read totally different times to what google said. So there was now no time to get to Mansfield library before it closed. By this point i'm at a loss, I don't know what to do.

My only hope was that we could get up early Sunday and head to Mansfield library before dashing off for our fathers day meet-ups.

Thankfully this is what we did, with limited time I managed to grab several books which should keep me going until the mobile library is back on July 13th.

So without further ado the books I selected from the library this month are as follows:

  1. You Will Know Me by Megan Abbott
  2. Right Behind You by Lisa Gardner
  3. Written in Bones by Jame Oswald
  4. Edge of Darkness by Karen Rose
  5. Devils Bridge by Linda Fairstein
  6. Alone in the Dark by Karen Rose
  7. A Song for the Dying by Stuart McBride
  8. The Cuckoo's Calling by Robert Galbraith
  9. Every Dark Corner by Karen Ros
  10. Killer Look by Linda Fairstein
Have you read any of these? Are they on your TBR pile? Have you reviewed them on your blog? Let me know in the comments section. Leave me a link to your blog and i'll pop over and check it out.
